The third step of the LOC method: sealing for lasting hydration

In the EvasHair moisturizing routine, each step has a precise and irreplaceable function. The Île-à-Vache Spray moisturizes from within the hair fiber (the "L" for Liquid). The Belle-Anse Cream nourishes and prepares the outer layer (the "C" for Cream). The Anse-à-Galets Melting Balm is the "O" in the equation — the oil that seals. Its role is to create a natural occlusive film around each strand, which slows down the evaporation of water retained in the fiber by the previous two steps. Without this sealing, hydration escapes quickly, especially in dry or windy environments. With the balm, hair remains hydrated, supple, and shiny well beyond the day of treatment. Beeswax, shea butter, castor oil: the sealing trio that leaves no heavy residue

Beeswax (Cera alba) is the main occlusive agent: it forms a natural, water-vapor permeable film around the cuticle, locking in hydration while allowing the hair to breathe. Hair porosity is the property that determines the fiber's ability to absorb and retain hydration. High-porosity hair absorbs quickly but loses water just as quickly — it needs a powerful sealant like the balm to slow down this loss. Low-porosity hair has tight cuticles, which resist overly thick emollients — the Anse-à-Galets Balm, thanks to its balanced formula and light grape seed oil, penetrates easily and seals without accumulating on the surface.
