Usage tips

On damp hair (wash & go, curl definition):

  1. Gently squeeze out the excess water from your hair after washing.
  2. Separate the hair into sections
  3. Take 1 to 2 pumps ofI Create Holdin your hands
  4. Apply by raking from roots to tips.
  5. Diffuse, let air dry, or use a hairdryer to define the texture
  6. Once the hair is completely dry, scrunch the "cast" (crispy effect) to reveal soft and shiny curls.

On dry hair (touch-ups, straightening):

  1. Dispense 1 pump onto your fingertips
  2. Apply to the areas to be reworked for structure and hold.

Who is the I Create Hold intended for?
This gel has been formulated for curly to very curly hair (types 2C to 4C) that needs definition and a firm hold. It is particularly suitable for medium to thick hair.
Does the I Create Hold leave a cardboard-like effect?
The gel creates a "cast" (crispy effect) while drying, but this is easily scrunched once the hair is completely dry to reveal soft, smooth, and shiny curls. This is the SOTC (Scrunch Out The Crunch) technique.
Can it be used on fine hair?
I Create Hold can be used on fine hair, but sparingly. We recommend I Create Volume or I Create Lift instead for fine hair that needs light hold and volume without weighing it down.
How to scrunch the cast correctly?
Wait until your hair is 100% dry (not just on the surface, but completely dry right down to the roots). Then, gently scrunch your curls section by section with your hands or a microfiber T-shirt. The scrunch should break easily to reveal soft, bouncy curls.
How long does the loop definition last?
The I Create Hold can last 2 to 5 days depending on your hair type, porosity, and weather conditions. Protect your curls overnight with a satin bonnet or pillowcase to prolong definition.
Can it be mixed with other Innersense products?
