Satin is not a material, it's a weaving technique

The first thing to understand is that "satin" does not refer to a fiber, but to a weaving method. Polyester, viscose, nylon — or silk — can be woven in satin. It's this particular weave pattern that gives it that recognizable smooth and shiny appearance, regardless of the fiber used.

• It is hypoallergenic and naturally resistant to dust mites, an asset for sensitive skin and scalps.
